Lavinia Mitchell Brown Horrocks
July 22, 1837 to March 16, 1905

Lavina [Lavinia, Lovina] Mitchell was born 22 July 1837, at Sheffield, Yorkshire, England, a daughter of Hezekiah Mitchell and Sarah Mallinson. She was baptized 4 July 1847. Lavinia came to America with their parents in 1848 and they settled in Ogden, Weber, Utah.

Lavina married (1) Captain James Brown, 7 September 1856, in Salt Lake City, Utah. They were later sealed in the Endowment House [Logan?], 27 March 1857, by Heber C. Kimball. Captain James Brown wrote a letter from Ogden, Utah to Hezekiah Mitchell in to inform the family that he had married their daughter Lavinia.Children of Captain James Brown and Lavinia Mitchell Brown:

After Captain Brown's death, Lavinia married (2) John Horrocks on 20 January 1865. Horrocks was born around 1833 and was from Sheffield, Yorkshire, England.
Lavina's sisters, Maria Mitchell Brown and Elizabeth Mitchell, married John's brother, Edward Gregory Horrocks.
Lavina died 16 March 1905 in Ogden, Weber, Utah. She was buried the 18 March 1905, the headstone has not yet been located.
